SUCKER GARDEN— Olivier Chambeau won the St. Maarten National Billiards Federation’s 9-Ball tournament for A-League at the 8/9 Poolbar in Sucker Garden Sunday.
Chambeau faced Rudolph Hyman in the final and won 5-3.
The St. Maarten National Billiards Federation has divided their shooters into two divisions. The elite eight compete in the Top League, while the remaining players shoot it out in the A-Ranking Division.
Action started as Chambeau faced Robby York in the competition opener. Chambeau won 4-1. Next up was Arsenio Henry. Chambeau clew past Henry 4-1.
Hyman opened against Anthony Watkins. Hyman swept 3-0.
York is currently the top shooter in the A-group with 920 points. Second is Watkins also at 920 and third is Henry at 530.
Points are based on the top six finishes in the last 10 competitions. Chambeau is currently 14 with 380 points having only entered one tournament. Hyman is 17 at 330 points having entered only two tournaments.
The next tournament, 10-Ball tournament for Top-League players will be Sunday at Café Rembrandt starting at 3:00pm.
