Belvedere FC shines in youth competition

BELVEDERE --Jaheel Flemming scored three goals as he led Belvedere FC past Oualichi  in the Age Under 11 group of the St. Maarten Football Federation Youth Competition Wednesday.  Sharmal Ellis added a goal to the tally sheet as Belvedere won 4-0.


  In the U13 division Belvedere clobbered Pelicans 7-1.  Kymani Rize led the attack netting 3. Quenton Wout  added two goals and  Faith Hope 1 and Kayshawn were good for a goal each.
  In other U11 matches Pelicans squeezed by Willfull  2-1. Sudesh Singh and Niakoy Phillips scored for  Pelicans and Wilfred Plumming got the lone goal for Willfull.
  Soualiga bested Hotspur 3-2. Shayden Phillips, Diego Quintero and Ervinio Kleberg  all found the back of the net for Soualiga.  Kaden Magloire  and Djurion Williams scored for Hotspurs.
  Gilbert Priest score the only goal of the game as he led United Super Stars to a 1-0 victory over
The competition features 25 teams totalling 283 young athletes.
  Games are played Saturday and Wednesday between the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex and Emilio Wilson Mini-field.
  The Belvedere Football Club started in 2006 as Veendam. Rignald Eugeniois the club president.  The club has 45 young athletes registered in five different age categories.
  The club trains Saturday's at the Johann Cruyff mini field in Belvedere. From 9:00am to noon. Parents can pick up a registration for at the field.
