PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten National Basketball Association (SXMNBA) has a new board consisting of Alex Ferdinand (President), Shawn Green (Vice President), Duncan Van Heyningen (Secretary), Everonique Levenstone (Treasurer), Herbert Martina (Public Relations Officer) and Alphonso Missoudan (Tournament Coordinator).
St. Maarten National Basketball Association’s goals are: To promote and manage the sport of basketball on St. Maarten; Supervise, improve and expand on basketball in accordance with FIBA rules and regulations and to participate in the Dutch Caribbean Games, Kingdom Games and CBC Games with further aims to the World Championship Games.
SXMNBA will host a single elimination knockout tournament May 15 to 26. The SXMNBA Mini Season will run from July 4 to October 30.
The SXMNBA believes that basketball on St. Maarten contributes greatly to the wellbeing of the youths and thus is a responsibility of all.
