Back to back wins for Chittick, Seymour clinches Elite race

BELAIR—Cyclone Club’s Wilfred Chittick added winning the Junior category of the Test Before Rest Cycling Race on Sunday to add to his Greenhouse Cup triumph to end the season on a high note.
Chittick (17) dominated Sunday’s race as he did the week before, seemingly without breaking a sweat, coming in first overall, several metres ahead of the Elite category winner.

"I just hope he continues to keep his focus,” said his proud father watching from the sidelines. Anguilla’s Xavi Brooks was the second placed Junior, and Jamari Bryan third.
Junior, Elite, and Cadet categories rode 10 laps of a 4.9K course starting and finishing at the Raoul Illidge Sports Complex. The course was a circuit via Raoul Illidge, Bush Road, Longwall Road, and over the Belair link.

ASM Club’s Stephane Seymour won the Elite category ahead of team mate Patricio “Blade” Carty in second place and Barend Wurth twas third. Sherwin Osbourne finished in fourth place.
“I took the lead on the third lap at Belair and kept that pace until I was joined by Chittick and my team mate Blade on the ninth lap,” said Seymour who has taken most of the year off. “Chittick attacked but I didn’t have the legs to catch him. This was my second race this year so I’m quite happy and Blade let me take the win. Last week at the Greenhouse Cup I finished eighth or ninth. Next week I hope to do even better in Anguilla.”

Susy Piscione continued her run of good form to win the Ladies race (five laps) as she did at the Greenhouse race, to deny Nicole Erato in second place and Alyssa van den Bosch third. Nicole continued to ride more laps presumably for the exercise.
Juan Pablo Piscione won the Masters B category (51 and over, three laps) Romeo Hyman was second and Walton Skeete third. Pascas Hernandez finished fourth.
Another assured performance from Mark Maidwell saw him clinch the Masters A category (41-50) ahead of “Papi” Bienvenido in second, and Romeo Lake third. Armande Gosse was fourth and Timothy Richardson fifth.

Anguilla’s Shaquan Hodge was first in the Cadet’s category (10 laps), Adelio Brooks (VCG) was second and Nickilon Gumbs finished third.
The Minimes category (seven laps) was won by Kianny Noel (ASM), Kenrick Cozier (ASM) was second and Anguilla’s Nicolas Cardon third. Novice adults was won Gerard Gumbs, Cayley Mackay was second and Junior Hughes third.

Following the adult races, three kid’s races were held on a short course going up past the hospital and the back of the sports complex. Caden Fleming Carden won the Poussin category (7-8 years, four laps). The Pupilles category (9-10 years, 8 laps) was won by Jahkim Carty, and the Benjamins (11-12 years, 12 laps) by Calen Fleming.
The race was organised by the Cyclone and ASM Clubs and sponsored by La Vista.
