Permit me to clear the air

Dear Editor,

I am very pleased with the response we have being getting so far, to the problem we are trying to bring to the attention of the general public concerning the refusal by SZV Bank to pay the old aged pension to persons they claimed did not reside on the Dutch side during the time money was collected from their pay checks.

Total lack of integrity

Dear Editor,

Today there were two articles in The Daily Herald that set me to thinking. The front page article under the heading “We have a lost generation that we have to deal with”, and the ad by SZV on page 16.

Know your Constitution and Parliamentary form of Govt.

Dear Editor,

As reported in the media, the perception that “amending the Constitution” is the only solution to stop “ship-jumping” and the further continuing demise of Government on St. Maarten (4 times in just about 5 years) is utterly absurd and uninformed.

Lt. Governor of St. Eustatius has no shame!

Dear Editor,
The mind-set of our people is still that everything coming from the other side of the Pond is needed, just and must be seen as an opportunity to change and do things better; that mind-set does not have room for questioning with what we are showered with. The few times, some of these decisions were questioned it was seen as a disservice to the people.

Not bound together by strong political visions

Dear Editor,

The changing of political affiliations by parliamentarians and the instability of the government and the consequences to the society is a matter getting much attention and so it should. Let me throw out some ideas about this phenomenon as it exists in our young parliament and country.
