Act against traffic infringements

Dear Editor,

I sit and listen for reactions to news articles. I read editorials and opinion letters and I am still waiting for someone or some instance in authority to address two rapidly increasing very clearly visible traffic infringements, which cannot be disputed when attended to. Illegal lighting on motor vehicles and dark-tinted glass.

I do not have to elaborate on why they are illegal because everyone who is in possession of a driver’s licence should  know how the legal lighting on the vehicle, as well as the tint on the glass of the vehicle that he/she is driving should be. They are mentioned in the Traffic ordinance. More reasons for the Dutch to criticize our law enforcement.

Even though I am of the opinion that since the arrival of Peter de Witte law enforcement has lessened, I cannot imagine why or do not know the reason for not acting against these two clearly visible violations  A few days ago while it was drizzling I crossed the street by a pedestrian crossing and had to urge a lady, who was reluctant to cross because there was approaching traffic. She said to me "Although I'm at the pedestrian crossing, I am very careful, because when they on the phone they don't pay attention." That too has intensified and the drivers even set up themselves behind the wheel in style.

While I'm at it and because these days we are into doing things to show the people that things are being done, It would be good to refresh the markings on the road also. Especially in the vicinity, as well as on the roundabouts. One of my people called me and asked me what the Dutch term is for. brook policy?. I was in traffic I told him I would have to pull over and google it, Because he was in a hurry,  he told me not to worry and hung up.

Based on the happenings on the French side, I put two and two together and came up with  "Gedoogd beleid".  My father used to tell me, be careful how you evaluate someone else. Always be big enough to accept retaliation, because there is a saying "it takes one to know one”.

I state this because I was called and told to go online, because. I mashed Steven Johnson's corn. I went back and read his letter to you, my letter to you and then his response to me via you. My first reaction was Michelle Obama. My father died in 1997, but there are things he showed me and said to me that are indelible.

He always reminded me that the Bible is the world’s best combined encyclopaedia and dictionary. So, I went  into the bible and found what I needed . 'Good works do not produce good character, good character produces good works'  Even though I and only I voice my opinion for me, It would touch me quicker if someone told me that I don't have compassion than if someone would tell me that, "Somebody put me up to it". Why is the truth so powerful?
