St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA) and ORCO Bank recently hosted its second St. Maarten Young Professionals Mixer in St. Rose’s Arcade, drawing a crowd of 206 young and more seasoned professionals. The event served as the kick-off event for the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP) Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) “Build Back Better” Week.
Ten University of St. Martin business students attended the mixer to get acquainted with companies they may work for in the future. UNDP Centre for Excellence Manager Arno Boersma said the mixer was “a great starting point” for the week of activities. “We hope we can jointly provide a forceful platform for innovative and out-of-the-box thinking for a more resilient future for St. Maarten.”
