Young boy knocked down by scooter

SIMPSON BAY--A nine-year-old boy had to be treated at St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) on Saturday for cuts and bruises he suffered when a scooter driver lost control and hit him directly with his bike.
Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said on Monday, “The accident occurred on Saturday on Simpson Bay Road. The scooter rider lost control of the scooter with licence plate MF-155 and entered the yard where a young boy was playing and knocked him down.
“The scooter then impacted a vehicle with license plate 7759AAB that was parked on the property and slammed into a light-pole on the side of the street. Both the scooter rider and the young boy suffered cuts and bruises to their bodies. They were both transported by ambulance to the Emergency Room for further treatment.
