PHILIPSBURG--A woman arrived home on Honey Dew Road at 12:40am Sunday and was ambushed by a man who demanded money from her.
According to police, she had just arrived home and parked her car in front of her residence. As she opened the gate to her yard she was suddenly attacked by an unknown assailant dressed in dark clothing with a hoody over his head.
According to the victim, the suspect demanded money and at the same time pulled the gold necklace from her neck and took the keys belonging to her vehicle. The suspect struck the victim with the butt of the gun he was carrying, causing her to fall to the ground.
The suspect fled the scene on foot after committing the act.
