Member of Parliament (MP) for National Alliance Jurendy Doran on his recent trip to Curaçao for Flag Day celebrations visited that island’s Parliament on the invitation of Curaçao MP Yaël Plet.

The two MPs discussed, among other topics, continued cooperation between the two Caribbean countries within the Dutch kingdom and their willingness to further strengthen this connection. Doran and Plet also discovered that besides their legislative roles, they also shared similar backgrounds. They are both from the information technology (IT) field and are their countries’ youngest MPs. Doran also met King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima whom he thanked for the interest shown in St. Maarten after Hurricane Irma. He also met Curaçao Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath and Education Minister Marilyn Alcalá-Wallé. Doran visited Curaçao as part of a two-man Parliament delegation that included MP for the United St. Maarten Party (US Party) Rolando Brison.
