Tourism, Marketing Conference opens at Eugenius Johnson Center

SABA--The two-day Saba Tourism and Marketing Conference opened Monday morning at Eugenius Johnson Center in Windwardside.

  Followed by a welcome address by Commissioner of Tourism Bruce Zagers, Conference participants attended a presentation by General Manager of Oyster Bay Beach Resort in St. Maarten Ricardo Perez about customer service and its importance to tourism. Senior Digital Project Manager at Miles Partnership Theresa Overby spoke about social-media marketing, whereas co-owner of Charisma Training and Development David McGregor made a presentation about working together.

  During today’s, Tuesday’s, second day of the Conference St. Maarten’s Director of Tourism Rolando Brison will speak about strengthening ties between Saba and St. Maarten. The last speaker at the Tourism Conference is former Bahamas’ Minister of Tourism Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace, who will speak about why tourism is fundamental to Saba’s economy and about measuring tourism.

  The two-day conference will be closed off with a reception at Tropics Café in Windwardside.
