MARIGOT--Three suspects are due to be transferred to Guadeloupe today, following an unsuccessful armed robbery in Marigot on Wednesday evening.
Two perpetrators entered an electronics store at 5:50pm, one armed with a gun and the other with a machete. However, the robbery was thwarted by a Gendarmerie patrol’s quick response and no money was stolen.
There were no injuries to employees of the store. Only a cell phone was stolen from a store employee.
One of the two fleeing suspects was apprehended immediately. Two other suspects were arrested on Thursday and taken into custody. All three are minors.
The Gendarmerie noted this was the first armed robbery attempt following 25 days with no armed robberies recorded.
