Ronald Halman
PHILIPSBURG--The terms of three members and one deputy member of the General Audit Chamber board will come to an end on August 23.
Board Chairman Ronald C. Halman, members Mark Kortenoever and Alphons Gumbs, and deputy member Daniel Hassell have served in on the board of the institution since its establishment in 2010.
Much has been accomplished in that span of time, it was stated in a press release on Friday. Prior to October 10, 2010, St. Maarten did not have a “supreme audit institution.” In less than a decade, the General Audit Chamber is a well-respected advisory organisation that has produced more than 30 reports.
“It has been my honour to serve. I consider my tenure to have been both meaningful and successful. Quite a lot has been accomplished, and I wish the incoming board members all the best for the future,” Halman said.
The process for appointment of a new chairman and board-members is underway. “I expect the process of appointment to proceed efficiently. Operations will not be impacted, and audit activities are ongoing. The General Audit Chamber is a solid institution. As a board we are most proud of that achievement,” Halman said.
