PHILIPSBURG--Social and Health Insurances SZV and Medical Devices & Home Care providers, also known as the Sleep and Breathing Disorder Center (SBDC) recently signed a contract that would benefit insured persons with sleep disorders.

SZV insured persons can now receive diagnostic services, sleep studies and treatment plans when referred to SBDC, SZV stated in a press release on Wednesday.

A physician or medical specialist can submit a referral letter to SZV for the insured person to be referred to the SBDC.

“Sleep disorders are conditions that prevent a person from getting a restful sleep at night and as a result, can cause daytime sleepiness and other dysfunctions. A sleep study provides the information your physician needs to be able to make a proper diagnosis and provide persons with an effective treatment recommendation(s) for their sleep disorder” the release said.

“The most common sleep disorders are Insomnia; Sleep Apnea; Narcolepsy; Periodic Limb Movement Disorder; Parasomnias and Restless legs syndrome. Untreated sleep disorders can have a negative effect on your health and quality of life, such as high blood pressure, diabetes or obesity to name a few.”

SBDC is located in the Yogesh Commercial Complex on the A.J.C. Brouwers Road 4, Unit 1-F, Cul De Sac. The center can be contacted via phone 721-554-0962.
