SZV offices will be closed  to the public until April 3

 PHILIPSBURG--The offices of Social and Health Insurances SZV will be temporarily closed for visitors and customers as of March 17 until April 3.

  During this period SZV services will be available by phone and online with adjusted operating hours and procedures.

  “These precautionary measures have been put in place to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers, visitors and the community of St. Maarten in light of the ongoing global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We kindly asks our customers to be flexible and patient with us as we implement these changes to continue to serve in evolving conditions, with public health and safety at the forefront of all decisions,” , said SZV in a press release on Monday.

  SZV advises persons not to visit the offices but to take note of adjusted procedures and contact options.

  Persons can reach SZV via its general phone number 546-6782 from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 2:00pm.

  Doctor control will be possible online via www.szv.sx or phone number 546-6775 Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 10:00am. SZV said the control doctor will ensure call back assessments to confirm follow-up procedures with clients.

  Prescribed medication requiring stamp approvals will be finalized electronically between SZV and Pharmacists eliminating the need for persons to visit SZV during the closure said the release.

  SZV said all scheduled appointments at the offices will be re-scheduled as soon as conditions permit and persons will be contacted for rescheduling options. Documents that are to be submitted before April 3 can be submitted via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., the Employer portal for Employers' declarations or Hecina portal for Health care providers. Persons can expect a response time of 3-5 working days for emails sent.

  General inquires via the SZV Facebook messenger will have a response time of 2-3 working days. All questions or concerns should be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or persons may visit the website, www.szv.sx and use the online contact form if they do not have an email address. SZV said a response can be expected within 3-5 working days.

  Payments to SZV can be processed via local online banking. Banking instructions are available via www.szv.sx.

  SZV said additional notices will be updated accordingly and communicated via the website of SZV www.szv.sx, SZV Facebook page via the local media.

  Patients currently abroad for medical referrals are being contacted and evaluated to return to St. Maarten, conditions permitting, in accordance with Government protocols, said the release. All medical referrals abroad will be halted and delayed as a result of the continuous changes in entry restrictions and international medical resources.

  SZV said it will continue to update the public via their online channels. The public is advised to check the latest information on www.szv.sx or via Facebook SZV Social and Health Insurances on a regular basis.
