SXM DOET kicked off strong on Friday with more than 2,000 volunteers assisting 85 local organisations in successfully executing projects that benefit themselves and, in turn, the community. Projects included building school benches, gardening, painting murals, clean-up campaigns, fixing basketball courts, creating recycling bins, clearing hiking trails, baking cookies, taking special children out for a fun day, island tours with the elderly, senior Olympics, creating little libraries and restoring a historical site, amongst many more. The volunteering project continues today, Saturday.
