PHILIPSBURG-- Be The Change Foundation and the Oranje Fonds started the island’s biggest national volunteer initiative SXM DOET on Friday, and continues on Saturday with more than 1,000 volunteers taking part in several projects.
Thirty projects were completed last year with the help of more than 900 volunteers. SXM DOET is aiming for an even higher turnout this year.
More than 35 foundations, clubs and schools throughout St. Maarten have signed up to complete various projects and odd jobs. They could not do this without the generous assistance of the community.
