Golden Rock Roman Catholic School in St. Eustatius held a graduation ceremony for their departing students, Monday evening at the school gym under the theme: “One Spark Can Become a Flame.” Pastor Peter de Jong spoke strong words of courage to students in his opening prayer. There were many speaker, including School Director Irine Ortega, keynote speaker Sjahaira Fleming and valedictorian Hope Busby, who had inspiring words for her classmates. The students, dressed in blue gowns and yellow sashes, lit sparklers as their teachers quoted Ignatius of Loyola in saying: “Go forth and set the world on fire.”
