AIRPORT--St. Maarten’s Learie Hall arrived home on Sunday after three weeks competing in the Mr. World pageant in the Philippines.

Though he did not capture a placement, Hall continues to relive the experience. He is proud to have represented his beloved St. Maarten, the first man to do so on the international stage of the Mr. World pageant, a competition of the renowned Miss World Pageant Organization.

This year has been packed with many firsts for Learie Hall. He won the first-ever Mr. GQ-St. Martin and the first-ever Mr. Caribbean GQ. He is the first man to represent St. Maarten in the Mr. World pageant and he will be the first St. Maarten man to compete in the Mr. Caribbean Universe pageant, which is to be held in Connecticut in January 2020.

His welcome party consisted of the reigning Miss Teen Carnival Queen Shaneisha Robinson, the reigning Pre-Teen International Queen Zidania Charles Gumbs, Miss Sundial Queen Sharees Thomas (who was also first runner-up in this year’s Teen Carnival Queen pageant), St. Maarten pageant Director Anna Richardson, as well as an array of friends, family, and fans.

In the coming days, Hall will be visiting several radio stations to share details about his experience, and he invites the public to tune in.

“Once again, I would like to thank the Minister of TEATT [Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication – Ed.], the Honourable Stuart Johnson, and special thanks to the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau. Thank you to Topper’s Rhum, Travel Planners, the many businesses that donated, those that supported the fundraisers, and everyone who sent words of support throughout the journey.

“Thank you to the POSH [Posh Productions] team, and everyone who assisted creatively and with preparations … I am forever grateful,” said Hall.
