SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Thursday midday: Northeasterly with a light to moderate breeze of 07 to 17 mph.

SYNOPSIS: 

The Atlantic high pressure system will maintain moderate winds across the local region. A drier atmosphere moving into the local region will limit precipitation. Nevertheless, lingering moisture and weak instability associated with a persistent trough in the region will account for cloudy periods and possible isolated showers.

Seas are expected to remain moderate during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate         WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: At 11:00 am Tropical Storm Otto was located about 1270 miles west-southwest of St. Maarten, with maximum sustained winds near 70 mph. This system poses no threat to St. Maarten; however the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor its progress.

OUTLOOK through Friday midday: Partly cloudy and breezy with isolated showers possible.
