The weak Atlantic high pressure system will maintain easterly winds and a relatively stable atmosphere across the local area. However, patches of clouds moving in the wind flow may account for a local shower.

Additionally, small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution even seas are gradually subsiding.

SPECIAL FEATURE: Alex transitioned into a hurricane at 11 a.m. this morning, making it the second hurricane in history to form in the Atlantic Ocean.
This record-breaking system fostered a rare start to the 2016 hurricane season, yet does not pose a threat to St. Maarten as it passes 2300 miles northeast of us.
