SURFACE WINDS:
This afternoon through Saturday midday: East northeast to east with a gentle to moderate breeze of 08 to 16 miles per hour.

SYNOPSIS:
The Atlantic high pressure ridge is maintaining a dry and stable atmosphere with easterly winds across the region. Therefore, fair to partly cloudy conditions are expected to prevail throughout this forecast period. Additionally a tropical wave will pass south of the region during this forecast area, however, it will have no significant influence on the weather across the local area.
Seas are expected to remain slight to moderate during the next few days.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to moderate WAVES/SWELLS: up to 5 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: At 11:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm Fiona was
located about 1118 miles east-southeast of St. Maarten and moving toward
the west northwest near 10 mph. Maximum sustained winds were near 45 mph with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.
Fiona poses no threat to St. Maarten. However, The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the progress of this system.

OUTLOOK through Sunday midday: Fair to partly cloudy with a passing shower possible.
