SYNOPSIS:
Instability and abundant moisture associated with tropical Depression Isaac will cause cloudiness, showers and possible thunderstorms across the region during this forecast period. Residents and users of areas prone to flooding are advised to be vigilant since some showers may be heavy.
Seas are expected to peak near 8 feet initially and gradually subside as the depression moves further away. Sea bathers and small craft operators should exercise extreme caution.
STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to Rough WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 8 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 11:00 am, the center of Tropical Depression Isaac was located near latitude 14.9 north, longitude 67.3 west or about 356 miles southwest of St Maarten. The Depression is moving toward the west near 16 mph with maximum sustained winds near 35 mph and higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast over the next few days and Isaac could degenerate into a tropical wave during that time.
Hurricane Florence now over South Carolina bringing life-threatening storm surge and Hurricane-force winds.
