St. Maarten man admits bank fraud

 

  1. GEORGE’S, Bermuda--A St. Maarten man switched his plea regarding four charges of bank fraud to guilty, according to the Royal Gazette in Bermuda.

Angelo Toussay (35) admitted the theft of US $2,350 from HSBC Bank and an attempt to steal a further $8,590. He admitted in Magistrates’ Court to possession of plastic cards with magnetic strips and a machine designed to make false credit cards for the purpose of stealing money in St. George’s between July 20 and 24.

Toussay had first denied the charges when he appeared before Maxanne Anderson in Magistrates’ Court on July 29. The magistrate remanded him in custody for sentencing Friday.
