CAY HILL--St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) has published its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a clean audit opinion on its 2025 financial statements and key developments across the organisation during the year.
The report includes contributions from SMMC’s Supervisory Council, Board of Directors and external auditor BDO BV, along with highlights from 2025, chapters on medical and patient care, performance figures, corporate social sustainability efforts and the organisation’s 2025 financial statements.
According to SMMC, the clean audit opinion issued by BDO BV confirms that the financial statements accurately represent the organisation’s financial position and comply with accepted accounting standards, an important achievement for the non-profit organisation.
The report also highlights progress on the construction of the St. Maarten General Hospital (SMGH), World Bank projects, the transition from SMMC to SMGH, strategic priorities, and quality and safety initiatives.
SMMC’s participation in the Transatlantic Kidney Transplant programme is also featured. During 2025, four patients received successful kidney transplants, eight patients remained on the Eurotransplant waiting list and 20 patients underwent transplant screening.
For this year’s report, SMMC partnered with local design agency ALTUS Branding to create a visually appealing and easy-to-read publication that incorporates elements of the branding for the new SMGH.
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Felix Holiday said, “This annual report provides a transparent overview of our financial health and operational developments while highlighting the incredible achievements and strides made in 2025. I congratulate all 425 of our staff for their efforts in making this possible and look forward to continuing on an upward trajectory in our transition to SMGH.”
The 2025 Annual Report is available for viewing on the SMMC website.
