Six new members inducted in Philipsburg Toastmasters Club

PHILIPSBURG--Philipsburg Toastmasters Club inducted six new members – Keyla van Heyningen, Anishka Romeo, Marie Gittens, Shellian Ramchandani, Clarence Pantophlet and Laurel Lambert – on August 17.  Elroy Hughes received his Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) award on the same day. The DTM award represents the highest level of educational achievement in Toastmasters. 

  Hughes thanked the members of Philipsburg Toastmasters Club, the St. Maarten Toastmaster Community and his family for their support. He encouraged the community of St. Maarten to continue encouraging young people in the community to use organisations like Toastmasters to develop their communication and leadership skills. He said he would continue to encourage the other members of the various clubs to continue advancing towards with their goals.

  Toastmasters is an educational organisation with the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Philipsburg Toastmasters Club meets at Philipsburg Jubilee Library on the first, third, and fifth Thursday of every month from 7:15pm. Guests are welcome to attend.
