Schools to close tomorrow due to TS Isaac's passing

PHILIPSBURG--All schools on St. Maarten are to close in Thursday due to the passing Tropical Storm Isaac. The closure is related to the Emergency Operation Center, headed by Prime Minister Leona Romeo-Marlin, erring on the side of caution.

The reopening of schools in Friday will be reassessed by the EOC tomorrow, Thursday.

The prime minister urged employers to be lenient with employees who have child care issues tomorrow.

No curfew will be imposed on the country, but checkpoints will be set up by Police and Royal Dutch Marines as a security precaution.
