Saba acquires two new garbage trucks

SABA--The Sanitation Division of Public Works, Public Works Head Russell Thielman, Act. Island Governor Franklin Wilson, Commissioner Rolando Wilson and Island Secretary Tim Muller assembled Friday, August 11, at Princess Juliana Sports Field in The Bottom to officially inaugurate the two recently-acquired garbage trucks.


Island Secretary Muller and Commissioner Rolando Wilson gave brief speeches on behalf of Commissioner of Infrastructure and Sanitation Bruce Zagers.
Head of Public Works Russell Thielman gave everyone present a walk-through of the vehicles’ operations. He pointed out new features, such as more safety precautions and more visibility for the drivers and other staff.
Commissioner Zagers, who has been working from November 2016 to make the arrival of the vehicles a reality, thanked the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment for the one-time grant.
The new trucks will become operational this week.
