Roadside cleared

Residents of Billy Folly Road were elated to have their street cleared of debris and other household items after weeks of these sitting on the parapets for collection. The items were placed outside by residents in July in compliance with a call from the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI to clean up their yard as the peak of the annual Atlantic Hurricane Season approached. However, to their chagrin, no collection crew came to haul away the items. page8c075This changed after residents contacted this newspaper about their plight and photos of the situation were printed on August 9. This was swiftly followed by a clean up on August 10. (John Halley photos)
