Rhuggenaath represented kingdom at OAS meeting  

With the South American host country’s President Ivan Duque.

 

WILLEMSTAD--Curaçao Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath travelled to Medellin, Colombia, this week to attend the Organisation of American States (OAS) General Assembly.

 The theme of this 49th edition was, “Innovating to Strengthen Hemispheric Multilateralism” and the prime minister had the honour to address the gathering in representation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

  During the conference they discussed the report by an OAS workgroup that investigated the impact mass migration from troubled Venezuela has on neighbouring countries, including Curaçao. Rhuggenaath was able to exchange information and ideas with others in the region on the recommendations.

 Also, ample opportunity was given for bilateral meetings with important relations, such as CARICOM, the Dominican Republic, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Barbados and Trinidad &Tobago.
