SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Wednesday midday: East to northeast with a light to moderate breeze of 06 to 17 mph.

SYNOPSIS: 

The Atlantic high pressure system will maintain moderate winds across the local region. Also, a frontal trough will account for cloudiness and possible showers during this forecast period.

Meanwhile, seas are expected to remain moderate during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate         WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: At 11:00 am Tropical Storm Otto was stationary at about 1180 miles west-southwest of St. Maarten, with maximum sustained winds near 70 mph. This system poses no threat to St. Maarten; however the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will monitor its progress.

OUTLOOK through Thursday morning: Partly cloudy and breezy with isolated showers possible.
