SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Tuesday midday: Southeast to east with a light to moderate breeze of 05 to 14 mph, becoming lighter and variable at times.

SYNOPSIS: 

The Atlantic high pressure system will maintain light to moderate winds across the local region. Available moisture and weak instability may produce isolated showers during this forecast period.

Meanwhile, seas are expected to remain slight to moderate before deteriorating by Wednesday. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to moderate         WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE:  Tropical Depression Sixteen remains near Central America or about 1,170 miles southwest of St. Maarten at 11am. This system is forecast to become a tropical storm later today or tonight. 
Tropical Depression Sixteen poses no threat to St. Maarten; however the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will monitor its progress.

OUTLOOK through Wednesday midday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers possible.
