WEATHER:   This afternoon through Saturday midday: Partly cloudy, hazy and breezy with a brief local shower possible.

SURFACE WINDS:  This afternoon through Saturday midday: Easterly with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 20 mph, with possible gusts.

 

SYNOPSIS:  

Another surge of Saharan dust is expected to reach the Eastern Caribbean today through the next couple of days. Persons with allergies and/or respiratory illnesses should continue to take the necessary precautions. While the Atlantic high pressure system maintains an easterly yet brisk wind flow across the region.

A small craft advisory remains in effect for St. Maarten as seas are expected to peak near 9 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough              WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 9 feet
