SYNOPSIS:

The Atlantic high pressure ridge will continue to generate a moderate easterly wind flow across the Eastern Caribbean. Additionally, high concentrations of Saharan dust will persist producing hazy skies and reduced visibility across the area. As a result, fair to partly cloudy skies, breezy and hazy conditions are expected over the local area.

Sea conditions will continue to be moderate for the next several days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate                WAVES/SWELLS: up to 6 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: 
At 11am Hurricane Chris was located east-northeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Chris is moving toward the Northeast at 22mph with maximum sustain winds near 100 miles per hour.

Hurricane Chris does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.

OUTLOOK through Friday midday:Partly cloudy, hazy and breezy with brief local showers possible.
