President of Parliament says the foundation of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity of French Republic will overcome. Offers Condolences on behalf of Parliament

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – President Hon. Sarah Wescot-Williams on behalf of the people and the Members of the Parliament of Sint Maarten, expresses deepest sympathy to the Republic of France, its people and Government with respect to the horrific events that took place on Friday, 13th November.

“The events of Friday evening in the French Republic, has left us deeply shocked and saddened after this tragic loss and suffering.  Despite the acts carried out, the Liberty, Equality and Fraternity foundation of the French Republic remains the beacon in these dark hours.

 

“The Northern half of this island is part of France. We express our solidarity with the President of the Collectivite, the Territorial and Executive Councils and to the people of St. Martin during this very difficult time as we all mourn with the French nation.

“Our prayers go out to the families and friends and of all the bereaved ones.  May the Almighty give them strength during this difficult period,” President of Parliament Hon. Sarah Wescot-Williams said on Sunday.
