SIMPSON BAY--Police officers noticed a group of men standing on the Dannaway’s Medical Centre parking lot on Airport Boulevard at 3:50am Sunday during a routine patrol. The officers found a Glock .45 calibre pistol containing a clip with ten bullets wrapped in a T-shirt. The gun and ammunition were confiscated immediately for further investigation.
The police report said, “The patrol drove in the parking lot in order to control what was going on. When these men noticed the patrol intended to approach them, they immediately stepped into a grey vehicle and drove off. The patrol noticed that prior to stepping into the vehicle and driving away one of the men became quite suspicious and hid what had looked like an object between the plants in the parking lot.
“The officers continued to investigate and found a white-, red- and black-striped T-shirt between the two GEBE meter boxes on the premises. The patrol picked up the shirt and discovered a weapon. A search of the area for the possible suspects in this case was unsuccessful. However, one more firearm is off the streets. The investigation into this case will continue to locate the possible suspects.” the report stated.
