Police assist with 25 traffic accidents during holidays

PHILIPSBURG--The Police Traffic Department is currently investigating more than 25 reported traffic accidents that took place over the Christmas holiday weekend.

Ten of these accidents included people suffering injuries. Many of these accidents were due to drivers not paying attention and not abiding by the traffic rules, according to the police.

The police remind all drivers that there is usually a lot of traffic during the holiday season and they should pay attention while operating their vehicles. They want drivers not to drive under the influence of alcohol and to make sure their vehicles are in good working condition.

Police again warn drivers to make sure to have their drivers’ licences with them at all times. All documentation for the vehicles should be in order. If anyone is involved in a traffic accident, they are advised not leave the scene (hit and run) before the police arrive.
