Police arrest two for illegal gun possession

PHILIPSBURG--The police arrested a man C.T.S. (27) on Friday at approximately 5:50pm. He is well-known to the police for illegal firearm possession and threatening someone.

The investigation included a search of his home during which a firearm was confiscated. The suspect remains in custody pending further investigation, according to the police on Tuesday.

The police also arrested a man K.C.L.B. (26) in the Sucker Garden area at approximately 1:30pm Monday. The suspect had an outstanding warrant in connection with an ongoing ill-treatment, threats and firearm possession investigation.

The police report that the man was identified by an officer on Walter Nisbeth Road. A short chase ended at a home in Sucker Garden to which the suspect fled. He was arrested on the scene and a search of the home was conducted, because the suspect was known to carry a firearm at all times. A loaded pistol was found and confiscated during the search. This suspect also remains in custody for further investigation.
