PM sympathises with Netherlands

PHILIPSBURG--Prime Minister Leona Romeo Marlin expressed sympathy to the Government and people of the Netherlands on behalf of St. Maarten on Monday on the shooting attack that killed three persons in Utrecht.

  Five other persons were injured during the shooting incident.

  A  Turkish man, Gokmen Tanis (37), was detained several hours after the attack.

  “St. Maarten pledges its resolute support and offers prayers to the Netherlands, its residents and St. Maarteners living throughout the Netherlands,” the PM said in a press release.

  Romeo-Marlin empathises with the families that have lost their loved ones and wishes them much strength during this period of bereavement.
