CU Promotions organised an Emancipation Day Parade in St. Eustatius on Sunday, July 1. The Parade started at William and Christine Flanders Community Centre and ended at Mike van Putten Youth Centre/Lion’s Den. The Parade featured live performances by the Masqueraders, moco jumbies, a drum band, the Bull, Carnival troupes from St. Kitts and Turbulanzz band.
There was a good turnout for the Parade. Many persons lined the streets throughout the route. Upon arrival at the Lion’s Den there was a dance-moves competition held between Statia and St. Kitts.
