Night-time paddle

Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) Foundation recently hosted a full moon Halloween-themed kayak tour in Simpson Bay Lagoon.

The “spooktacular” kayaks set off from Kim Sha beach with everybody paddling in the darkness to the boat graveyard where they listened for eerie sounds and then shared their scariest stories next to the causeway bridge. Ice-cold drinks were served as the full moon appeared from behind dark clouds. After story time, everyone headed back to the beach where winners were selected for the scariest costume and most terrifying story. Pizza from Buccaneer Beach Bar was the prize. All funds raised from the event will go to conservation and educational projects to help St. Maarten to become a cleaner and more sustainable country. EPIC thanked all supporters of and participants in the event.
