MPs resume discussion on lump sum subsidies today

PHILIPSBURG--Parliament will continue its urgent plenary session today, Monday, with Education Minister Wycliffe Smith on the topic of lump sum subsidies for school boards. The meeting in Parliament House starts at 11:00pm.

The meeting started on May 20 and was suspended until today.

The urgent meeting was requested by National Alliance (NA) MPs Silveria Jacobs, Christophe Emmanuel and Egbert Doran. They requested that the meeting focus on the effects of the lump sum subsidies for school boards.

The parliamentary session is open to the public and will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 115, SXM GOV radio 107.9FM, Pearl Radio 98.1FM,
