Motor vehicle tax

Long queues of motorists were evident at the Receivers Office on Monday as scores of persons who paid their 2016 motor vehicle tax went to collect their number plates. Some persons in line were complaining about the long line and the lengthy waiting period to get their plates. The line to pay motor vehicle tax was actually much shorter than the line to collect number plates. Receiver Minerva Gumbs said although one window was open to give out the plates there were multiple persons handling the long line. The Receiver will be opening from this Saturday until March 5, from 9:00am to 2:00pm. She urged the public to take advantage of these opening hours. The plates were available to the public as of yesterday, Monday.
