THE HAGUE--The Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary of St Maarten was featured in the December 2025 edition of Diplomat Magazine, represented by Minister Plenipotentiary Gracita Arrindell, who appeared in the publication’s Diplomat VIP section.
The feature, entitled “Sint Maarten: A Bridge between the Kingdom and the Caribbean,” highlighted St Maarten’s role as a unique link between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the wider Caribbean and Latin American region. The article explored how the island positions itself amid global challenges, emphasising education, culture, and sustainability as key pillars guiding St Maarten’s vision for the future.
According to the publication, the feature also delved into tourism with purpose, innovation and regional collaboration, and diplomacy in practice.
Minister Arrindell expressed her gratitude and pleasure for the invitation to be featured, noting the significance of being highlighted in the Diplomat VIP section of the magazine. She welcomed the opportunity to contribute to a platform that fosters high-level discourse among experts in international relations and diplomacy, and viewed it as an opportunity to showcase the interests and cultural identity of Sint Maarten.
The feature was described as more than a personal milestone, serving as a strategic gateway to strengthen Sint Maarten’s visibility within European and international diplomatic circles. Through participation in the edition, the Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to proactive diplomacy and to reinforcing ties between Sint Maarten, the Netherlands, and international partners.
Diplomat Magazine was founded in June 2013 by heads of diplomatic missions and is the first diplomatic magazine in the Netherlands’ history published by and for diplomats. The magazine operates under the Stichting Diplomat Magazine, a non-profit Dutch foundation based in The Hague.
