Meatless Day Walkathon slated for November 25

BELAIR--World Meatless Day will be observed with a walkathon on Sunday, November 25. People are urged by walk-organisers to not eat any meat or meat products for that day.

The Meatless Day walkathon will start at 5:30am with registration at Belair Community Centre and end with a vegan breakfast on the centre’s patio. The walkathon route is from the Centre, Link 1, Sea Palace Hotel, Boardwalk Boulevard, Emmaplein, W.J.A. Nisbeth Road, Bush Road, and Welgelegen Road back to the Centre.

Participants must have their own refillable water bottles for the walk. The emphasis on refillable water bottles is a way walk organisers are employing to cut down on environmental impact.

A yoga session will be held at the centre from 6:30am to 7:45am. Participants must bring their own yoga mats and water bottles.

Breakfast will be served after the yoga session.

Registration donation is US $10 to cover walk T-shirt cost and light refreshments.
