AIRPORT--The Alpha Team operating at Princess Juliana International Airport, consisting of members of the Royal Marechaussee and the Police Force of St. Maarten, arrested R.J. (37) at 9:55am Thursday for attempting to board a flight to Haiti using a false passport.
The man was arrested in the airport’s departure hall during a control by members of the Alpha Team. The suspect intended to board a flight to Haiti using a passport which proved to be false. The identification card and driver’s licence the man had in his possession were also false.
The suspect was taken to the Philipsburg police headquarters and detained for questioning and further investigation, police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said.
