Man shot in  St. Peters

 

Area sectioned off in St. Peters after one man was injured in a shooting late Friday morning.

 

ST. PETERS--A man sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body during a shooting in St. Peters on Friday morning, August 7. His injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening. The Police Force of St. Maarten “KPSM” Central Dispatch received a report of the shooting at about 10:40am. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unknown.

Ambulance personnel provided medical treatment to the victim at the scene before transporting him to St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further treatment. Detectives and members of the Forensic Department responded to the scene and conducted an investigation, including the collection of evidence relevant to the case.

KPSM is appealing to members of the public who were in the area at the time of the shooting and may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist with the investigation to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact KPSM at 54-22233 or the anonymous Tip Line at 9300. The investigation remains ongoing, and KPSM thanked the public for its cooperation and assistance
