POND ISLAND--Edelmiro Jansen is the new technical director of St. Maarten Housing Development Foundation (SMHDF).
Jansen has taken a year’s leave of absence from the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Development, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI to take up the post at the government foundation, VROMI Minister Christophe Emmanuel told the press on Wednesday. Emmanuel has requested a priority list of the housing foundation from Jansen. “One of my major, major concerns is the quality of the homes that are being built,” he said. Homes for senior citizens and young professionals are seen as priorities by the minister.
