Installation of cameras starts

WILLEMSTAD--After the delivery of the closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras for Curaçao by Chinese company Inspur recently suffered a delay, their installation finally has begun in downtown Punda.

Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro said the South side of the island would be taken care of first. It is expected that this part will be completed in April/May.

The project is divided into four phases. Navarro indicated that the monitoring room for the electronic surveillance system also would be operational once the first phase had been completed.
