GEBE maintenance will lead to five-hour outages

PHILIPSBURG--Scheduled maintenance works by utilities company GEBE in several districts around the island will lead to residents in most affected areas experiencing outages of up to five hours in the coming days.

  The maintenance works began on Sunday, November 27, and will continue up until December 1.

  According to a notice from GEBE, the maintenance will allow the company to carry out “necessary upgrading” on its distribution system.

  The maintenance schedule meant that Harbour View residents were without power on Sunday, November 27, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

  Today, Monday, November 28, from 9:00am to 2:00pm, residents in Pointe Blanche (Trush Road, Swallow Road and surrounding areas) will be without power.

  On Tuesday, November 29, from 9:00am to 12:00noon Oyster Pond Road and Simpson Bay will be without power.

  On Wednesday, November 30, from 9:00am to 2:00pm Cole Bay/Union Road (Ocean Building, Ace Mega Center, Archimedes Road, Fahrenheit Road, Celcius Street, Torricelli Road and surrounding areas) will be without power

  And on Thursday, December 1, from 9:00am to 2:00pm Cole Bay/Union Road (Shell Tackling Gas Station, Mahoe Tree Drive, T. Ben’s Estate Drive, Harley Davidson, Merchant Market and surrounding areas will be without power.
